Actions Taken By the Board

CSD Board meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the Month. The November and December meetings are moved one week earlier in observance of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

The following items are abbreviated summaries of administrative actions taken by the Board at the December 18th, 2024, meeting. The detailed meeting minutes will be presented to the Board for approval on January 22, 2025.

ELECTIONS:

Newly elected Member Dale McDonald was elected as President of the Board. Nick Spinner was elected as Vice President effective immediately.

ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • a. Ms. Diana Cantú-Rayna was appointed to the Crockett Police Liaison Committee.
  • b. Ms. Louise Choquette is a long-time resident of Crockett and has served on the Recreation Commission since 2011. She was reappointed to the Recreation Commission.
  • c. Ms. Alisa Maria was offered the position of Recreation Manager subject to a successful employment contract with the Interim General Manager or General Manager.
  • d. Ms. Jena Goodman, the current Interim General Manager/Administrative Service Manager, was offered the position of General Manager subject to a successful employment contract negotiation with thelabor negotiator and adoption by the Board at a regular meeting.
  • e. The Sanitary Department Manager has been employed with an outdated and expired contract. The Board authorized the Interim General Manager or General Manager to successfully negotiate and enter into a contract for the Sanitary Department Manager.
  • f. The District has signed a lease with Caltrans for a dog park. A recent Caltrans blanket insurance policy change requires an additional $15 million of umbrella coverages for leases located underneath freeway underpasses. The new policy could cost the District an additional $15,000 for the extra coverage. The Board requested that the dog park lease with Caltrans be suspended until further notice.
  • g. The Meeting and Holiday schedule for the 2025 calendar year was approved with the following notations. The Port Costa Commission will now be meeting on the first Tuesday of the month. The Personnel Committee and Memorial Hall Committee calendars were removed from the list. These committees will meet as needed.
  • h. The Payroll Schedule for the calendar year 2025 was approved.
  • i. The minimum wage has increased by $.50 to $16.50 for part-time staff. Returning lifeguards are given a $.15 increase to their previous hourly wage. These satisfy the Salary Schedule to meet the January 2025 requirements.
