Services Provided

State law empowers a community services district to "collect, treat or dispose of sewage and wastewater in the same manner as a sanitary district" (Code Section 61100 of the Government Code). Wastewater Treatment Plant

Since 2008, the Port Costa Sanitary Dept. has contracted, currently with Valley Operators LLC., for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and nearby 'septic tank'.

Financial Stablility

The Port Costa Sanitary Department receives the vast majority of its revenue for operations, maintenance, replacement and capital improvements from sewer service charges to its customers. No revenue is received from property taxes. Other revenue sources may include grants, loans, capacity fees, and miscellaneous fees.

Standard Specifications

The Standard Specifications for sewering shall govern requirements, design, and all work in connection with sewer construction and/or projects financed by private individuals within the jurisdiction of the Crockett Community Services District of Contra Costa County, California.
