By Joint Use Agreement signed in 1976, the District entered into a partnership with C&H Sugar Company for the joint treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater. By the terms of this agreement, C&H Sugar Co. accepted full responsibility for operation of the Joint Treatment Plant, along with maintenance, improvements, and regulatory reporting. The District retained no responsibility in these matters and, consequently, has no employees involved in wastewater treatment and disposal.
