Police services are provided by the Contra Costa County Sheriff and the California Highway Patrol in the unincorporated communities of Crockett and Port Costa.

Fire protection in Crockett and Port Costa is provided by the Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District. The CCFD is a volunteer fire department.
