George Morrison Rolph was one of Crockett's leading citizens and President of the California & Hawaiian (C&H) Sugar Refining Company. The memorial was commissioned and installed after his death in 1932.
The Rolph Memorial, as it is locally known, is located on the north west corner of Pomona and Rolph Park Drive and is still owned by C&H Sugar Co.
