Sewer Rate Charge for Fiscal Year 2026-27
The Crockett Sanitary Department provides sewage collection, treatment and disposal service to 1,175 properties in Crockett.
Each year the District performs the following to continue the maintenance and repair of the sewer system:
- Compares the revenues of each utility to its expenses to determine the overall level of annual rate adjustments to meet financial objectives.
- Equitably allocates the revenue requirements between the various customer classes of service on a proportionate basis.
- Designs rates for each class of service to meet the revenue needs of the utility, along with any other rate design goals and objectives.
PUBLIC HEARING
A public hearing was held on July 22, 2026 at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting at 7 pm at the Crockett Community Center to consider an increase of the Sewer Use Charge (SUC) by 30% up to $1,582 for Single Family Residences, retroactive to July 1, 2026.
119 objections were submitted in writing. The miminum objections to stop an increase is 587.
FINAL DECISION
The Board passed a motion to approve a 30% sewere use increase. effective July 1. Vote: 3 ayes, 2 noes.
